Frequently Asked Questions

What is Astrology?
Astrology is the study of planetary cycles and patterns and their affect on our lives, kind of like the weather. It is the study of possibility—in this way astrology is a helpful tool to highlight upcoming opportunities or potential challenges, but you chose what to do with the information every step of the way, as you have free will. Astrology reveals opportunities we may have otherwise missed, and helps us understand, plan and prepare in order to optimize these opportunities to their fullest potential. Astrology also offers us a wider perspective, broadening the lens through which we view ourselves, others and the world—for this reason I believe astrology is a practice in compassion as well.

How important is my exact birth time when calculating my natal chart?
Very! Your natal chart, or birth chart, is a snapshot of a moment in time—the exact moment you came into being. For this reason your natal chart can only be calculated using your precise birth time.

Locate your birth certificate, baby book, or ask a parent or close relative if they remember the time. If these options are not available to you, and you were born in the US, contact the Bureau of Vital Statistics in the state in which you were born—you will be able to order the long form copy of your birth certificate, which will include your birth time if it was recorded. It typically costs around $20. Another option is chart rectification, which is an astrological technique used to narrow down your birth time. I do not offer chart rectification personally, though if this is something you’re interested in please contact me and I’d be happy to refer you to a colleague who does.

We can still explore quite a bit of your personal astrology without your birth time using something called a sunrise chart, which is your birthday chart set at sunrise, though we can get much more specific if we have the exact time. For this reason, I strongly recommend trying the tips above to pinpoint your birth time prior to booking.

Are readings offered in-person or remotely?
Both, though in-person is limited. I use a program called Zoom to offer sessions remotely, it’s like Skype but better! It’s free + easy, allows me to share my screen with you, and is equally as powerful as an in-person session. If you would prefer to meet in-person, please make a note when booking and we’ll work it out. Please note in-person sessions take place in NYC.

How do I book a reading?
I’m so glad you asked—right this way!

Can I gift a reading?
Certainly! What a beautiful gift idea, I’d be happy to coordinate this with you. Please reach out to me here and we’ll set it up.

Do you do private events?
Yes, I love private events! It’s a beautiful way to add that extra something special to your birthday party, bachelorette, baby shower, you name it! Please reach out for rates and availability here.

Are you open to collaborations?
Absolutely! Please email me to discuss.

  • I do require payment in full upon booking in order to hold your spot and honor the time and research invested before we meet.

  • Due to the individualized nature of a reading and the research time required prior to our session, I do not offer refunds, though I am happy to reschedule with you.

  • Life happens, I totally get it! If you need to change your appointment I appreciate you reaching out to reschedule at least 48 hours prior, this helps me keep my schedule streamlined.

  • Running late? Not a problem, though please keep in mind that the clock starts at our scheduled appointment time, not when you arrive.
